John T. Curnes, MD,  graduated Valedictorian from Hampden-Sydney College in 1974.  Following completion of medical school and residencies, he held faculty positions as Assistant Professor of Neuroradiology at UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University Medical Center, before coming to Greensboro in 1988.  He is the author or co-author of over 30 peer-reviewed publications.  He has served on the Editorial Review Board for both the American Journal of Radiology and the American Journal of Neuroradiology.  His currently serves on the Education Committee of the North American Spine Society.  He is most interested professionally in the non-surgical treatment of back and neck pain related to degenerative disc disease.
